03/31/2006

since i last wrote...two days after my last blog entry, i went to the er with severe pain and had major abdominal surgery the next day...i am still recovering and have recently taken a turn for the worse...i believe that i returned to work too early and have had a relapse...what else is the choice of a single mother with two kids, etc.?...i face another surgery in may, a biopsy...this may be minor or major or life-threatening or life-ending...we just don't know yet...my concern is for my kids...if you out there want to pray for my situation, please pray that my kids would come to know the Lord...

any of you that read my blog know that i love sports as a distraction to real life, so i anticipate the final four games and the ncaa championship very much...

i just don't have the energy for typing right now...anyway, we're moving again (to a townhouse in this same complex) so that will be keeping us occupied for today and this weekend...in my physical condition i am unable to help in the way that i am used to...so...that has been a very difficult part of this, i am usually physically and mentally able to work 2 jobs and do an hour of pilates afterward and have enough energy to function as a human being, but lately i get those waves of dizziness and light-headedness even as i am sitting doing nothing...

i am having much difficulty getting through the mental part of not being who i used to be...not only my physical energy is gone but my mental clarity and emotional stability even, at times...i have lost patience...this is just really difficult...

this too shall pass...i know...but it's still hard...

i am asking for prayers for both of my kids right now...matt just got back from the emergency room, he has pleurisy and it is causing him to have chest pain...he just fell asleep, thankfully...his fiancee, brie, took him to the hospital and took good care of him...also, kim is working a lot of hours at her job at penney's and i am concerned about her, too...i just pray that God would be with both of them and that He would surround them with his love and protection in this world that can sometimes seem so overwhelming with work, school, illness, financial pressure...and i pray for myself to have the ability to help them both through all of these times that we will encounter...i love them both very much and just always want to support them...i pray for brie and konnor and everyone else who loves my kids...

how 'bout those seahawks?...we'll see in a few hours their opponent for next sunday...

as of this moment, pittsburgh leads indianapolis 21-10...

friday night i had a great time at the tri-city americans game...they beat spokane 3-0...always a great game against the chiefs...

watched both football games, of course, yesterday...also a csi repeat (one of the rare episodes that i hadn't seen before), then i watched two shows i had never seen, crossing jordan and medium, and enjoyed both...then watched law and order:svu which is one of my favorites...it was a crime drama night, i guess...

tomorrow is the holiday honoring dr. martin luther king, jr., so public schools are closed and therefore i won't be teaching, but i will work an opening shift at my other job, so i am excited about that...

i didn't go to church today...haven't gone for a while, and i'm sorry, God, you know that i have been kind of spiritually lazy and have been reluctant to be in fellowship with others...why?... i don't know... i miss going to church...i hope to get over this reluctance soon, because i know that i am missing out on something important...

it's already halfway through january and i wonder about what 2006 will be like...there are events which are scheduled and expected, such as kim graduating on june 2...wow...after that both of my kids will be high school graduates...seems like only yesterday i was graduating from pasco high...actually 26 years ago in june...my 44th birthday is in march...and i have enjoyed my 40's so much...what else will 2006 bring?...i just pray that whatever God intends for me and for my family this year, He will be with us through it all, the joys and the sorrows, the gains and the losses, the births and the deaths, the beginnings and the ends...

it's almost midnight and i must be up by 6 am, so this is good night...

it's been months and months since my last entry, and for that, i am sorry...there isn't really an excuse, nothing much has changed, i still work as a substitute teacher and as an employee of a school-age program...however, i volunteer as the secretary of a high school choir booster club, so that does take some of my time...i haven't read any of my entries or even been signed on to my blog in many months...as i read some of my past blogs, it brought back memories and i am so glad to have written them...i hope that i can regularly start using this again...

so what's happening now?...i am watching the new england-jacksonville playoff game...washington beat tampa bay so they will play our beloved seahawks next week, and it sounds like matt, brie, and i will attend the game!...of course, matt and i attended last year's seahawks- rams game...that was my first time in qwest field...it was very exciting!...we can't really afford it financially, although matt says he'll buy the tickets when they go on sale monday morning...but sometimes you can't afford to not do things emotionally...does that make sense?...does it matter?...i think it's true...kim and her friends went to see "the producers" again...my recommended movie choice: "the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe" ...it is wonderful and very faithful to c.s. lewis' incredible book...haven't yet seen "goblet of fire", probably because i am still halfway through the book!...tigger has been joined by a sweet tabby kitten named audrey, but i call her little miss...

the world continues to be a place that makes no sense...so i just keep my focus on the world to come...peace to all who read this, and all who don't...later
